The waiver wire madness continued in the NHL on Saturday as teams cut down rosters before the start of the regular season.
After 61 players were placed on waivers Friday, 18 more joined on Saturday.
The New York Islanders led the way on Saturday by sending five players to the wire, including forward Pierre Engvall.
Other notable names to hit the waiver wire Saturday included Miles Wood of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Alex Nylander of the Calgary Flames.
Nylander signed a two-way contract with the Flames on Friday.

Of the 61 players placed on waivers on Saturday, all but two cleared.
The Detroit Red Wings claimed veteran defenceman Andreas Englund off waivers from the Flames on Saturday, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Englund, 30, signed with the Flames on a one-year, two-way deal this past off-season after spending the previous two years with the Nashville Predators.
He played one game with Calgary this pre-season, lacing up for 17:35 in Thursday's loss to the Seattle Kraken. The left-shot blue-liner also got into a fight and took three shots on goal.
The eight-year NHL veteran played just three games with Nashville in the 2025-26 season.
Over 200 career games with Nashville, Los Angeles, Chicago, Colorado and Ottawa, Englund has two goals, 20 points and a minus-26 rating.
The Predators also claimed defenceman William Trudeau from the New York Rangers.
